# Smelter

A structure that generates high heat, which is enough to smelt hard materials such as iron.

This structure is required to smelt the raw [metal ores](broken://pages/WMGpfbF9YG3IM1XtFNjz). With high heat it generates, smelter cooks foods faster than a [campfire](/tribals.io-wiki/building-elements/camp-fire.md). 

Has 5 inventory slots.

Protected by a [toolbox ](/tribals.io-wiki/structures/toolbox.md)if its placed adjacent to a protected building element.

Can be placed on the [platforms](/tribals.io-wiki/structures/wooden-platform.md) and the ground.

Decays with 6 units every minute.

Each hit costs 30 durability damage to the attacker's weapon.\
It has 5000 max durability.
