Gameplay

Players must gather resources and build necessary structures to succeed. Some items need to be processed before they can be used properly, and to do that, players must protect their establishments from incoming threats.

There are various building structures that are placeable on the map, as well as equipment to be crafted to ensure the survival.

Crafting

Players have the ability to craft the equipment and structures they need. Items require resources to be crafted. Anything created with the crafting menu is carriable in the player inventory, tradable, and storable in the Storage Boxes.

Building

Building is possible with the item Building Plan, which is craftable and can be located in the first section of the crafting menu. While holding the Building Plan in hand, pressing and holding to right click lets you chose an element among the possible buildable elements with it. Then pressing and holding to left click lets you place it, if you have enough resources to do so.

All building elements are subjected to Decay.

Decay system

Decay is the force that constantly harming your building elements. Every player made structure is subjected to Decay. To protect the buildings from it, players need a Toolbox to protect their structures. Toolbox lets you automatically repair your base, even if you are not around to protect it. If there is no connected Toolbox present in the compound, Decay will affect the building elements faster.

Toolbox is not the only way to repair the building elements. Repair Hammer lets you repair your base manually in exchange for the required amount of resources to repair it.

Toolbox

Along with repairing buildings, Toolbox also lets players own a land. It provides a protective area centered around the Toolbox, preventing any other player to build something nearby. It's "ownership" is obtainable to any player "opens" it. So it's important to protect it well with a lock and minding where it placed.

It also provides an ownership state to the connected building elements. Any player opens it receives the ownership. "Owned" building elements receive high amount of damage from the "owner(s)".

Territorial Conflicts

The lands of Tribals is wide and great, but some parts of it are better. Players tend to secure a high value area for them and their allies by marking the area with building and defensive structures. Players have to secure an area as big as the space they need to place their necessary devices and machines. To reach a certain prosperity, players must build Smelter, Workbench, Water Collector, Fish Catcher, Trade Box... Some of them requires extensive protection because might hold valuable items such as Irons, Books and fuel.

Also many of the players tend to engage with the other players to get the resources they need, rather than going out and gathering the resources from the land. This makes it difficult to travel around freely.

Raiding houses for its contents is another way to play Tribals. It's often easier to break in a poorly protected houses than run around and gather natural resources from the ground.

Trading

Trading among players is based on trust because players must physically meet and exchange goods, which is often leads to conflicts. Trade Box let players create sale listings for the wares they want to sell, safely. The amount of items required for the trade can be set by the owner, and may be up to 1000 stack of items from the list below:

  • Wood

  • Stone

  • Iron Bar

  • Coal

The profits from sales are transferred into safe tab in the Trade Box, which only the owner can see.
