# Iron Fragment
Players can get Iron Fragments by smelting Iron in the [Smelter](/tribals.io-wiki/building-elements/smelter.md) or the [Campfire](/tribals.io-wiki/building-elements/camp-fire.md). Iron Fragments can also be found at the [Pirate Event](/tribals.io-wiki/special-events/pirate-event.md). Iron Fragments can be used for crafting items, upgrading [Storage](/tribals.io-wiki/building-elements/wooden-box-storage.md), trading items in the [Vending Machine](/tribals.io-wiki/building-elements/vending-machine.md) or for upkeeping your base.
